Keynote Lecture – Dealing with evolving conservation principles to include interdisciplinary collaboration for cultural heritage preservation

An holistic approach for the preservation of cultural heritage often requires the input and collaboration of various disciplines. It therefor requires the various involved actors to understand and agree on the principles that contribute to the preservation of the identified heritage values. Based on my experience with teaching interdisciplinary groups of students to develop a conservation and valorisation project in the Master of science in Conservation of Monuments and Sites at KU Leuven, a methodology and lessons learned can be shared that stimulate and improve interdisciplinary collaboration in the field.
